Krankenhäusle

The “Krankenhäusle” is a 130-year-old brick house, formerly used as a hospital and now home to the “Gustav Werner Forum”, named after the founder of the Bruderhaus Diakonie. Anyone entering the historically listed building will find themselves in a special place: the building, built for the old, sick and weak, is also where Gustav Werner spent his last years. The museum presents the extraordinary life of the theologian and entrepreneur, provides insights into the beginnings of the diaconia and the age of industrialization, and explains, among other things, what a volcanic eruption or a hunger strike have to do with Reutlingen and the Bruderhaus Diakonie.
