Future-Proof Inner Cities and Centers
With the federal program "Sustainable Inner Cities and Centers," measures in 228 municipalities across Germany, in large cities, medium-sized towns, and small towns, are being promoted.
One of these 228 municipalities that received funding is the city of Reutlingen. Reutlingen receives 2.29 million euros in funding from the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB).

Mission Statement Biosphere Inner City
The funding project aims to make the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve tangible and experiential in the city center of the upper-level center Reutlingen. As a member of the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, the development of a guiding vision and an action strategy for the Reutlingen city center is intended to create a valuable foundation for ecological diversity and climate protection, as well as economic, social, and socio-political orientations.
Innovation HUB
The Innovation HUB in downtown Reutlingen is a new project aimed at involving the entire population in downtown development and collaboratively developing ideas for new products, processes, business models, as well as social innovations. Central actors in this are Hochschule Reutlingen and the Geschäftsstelle Biosphärengebiet Schwäbische Alb.
